Consular Associate:
Summary
This position provides a wide range of consular services to U.S. citizens and assists with visa processing. It requires strong communication, computer, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
Assist U.S. citizens with various consular needs (American Citizen Services Unit)
Process non-immigrant visa applications (Nonimmigrant Visa Unit)
Assist with immigrant visa applications (Immigrant Visa Unit)
Participate in investigations and validation studies related to visas (Fraud Prevention Unit)
Handle correspondence with the public, attorneys, governments, and Congress
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of office administration experience, with at least 1 year in consular affairs (experience is defined as 40 hours/week for 1 year)
High school diploma required
Fluency (reading, writing, speaking) in English (may be tested)
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills (may be tested)
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Eligibility
U.S. citizenship required
Must be able to pass medical and security certifications
